History

A ridge of hills south of the village contains a historically significant row of wine cellars. The cellars were built in the 18th and 19th centuries and have wooden walls and thatched roofs.

Nagykutas is recorded as a settlement from the Árpád era; the place was documented as Kuthus in 1211.

West of the village, an approximately 800-year-old sweet chestnut tree stands on the vineyard hill.

Nagykutas's main road follows Route 7404. This route runs from Zalaegerszeg toward Andrásfa along the southern edge of Vas County.
