Culture and History
Zalaháshágy is described as a historic village that was first recorded in 1328 under the name Villaháshágy.
The oldest mentioned landmark in the village is a 12th-century Trinity church. It contains a semicircular tympanum stone with dragon and animal figures, which is attributed to the period after the Hungarian Conquest.
Zalaháshágy lies on the edge of Zala County, next to Őrség and Zalalövő and between Zalacséb and Vaspör. Szőce is the neighboring settlement in Vas County to the northwest.
Next to the church stood a former fortified manor house associated with the Hásságyi family. The former earthworks east of the church were examined in 1956; however, the site was later largely leveled.
