In Kökschetau, the “Akmola Regional Local History Museum” is housed in a state-protected building dating from 1904. It displays collections on regional history, archaeology, ethnography, nature and culture, including galleries dedicated to nature, natural history, steppe civilisation and regional history.

The “Malik Gabdullin Museum” organises excursions, lectures on literary history, exhibitions and scientific-practical conferences. The “Museum of Literature and Art” is listed among Kökschetau’s cultural sites at 163 M. Auezov Street.

History

The “Museum of the History of Kokshetau” is located in the old part of the city, at 32 Kanai-bi Street. It houses 16,000 exhibits on the history of the city from 1824 to the present day. A visit ends in the courtyard, where visitors can see a Cadillac, a horse-drawn sleigh and carts.

City

The Zhağalau waterfront on Lake Kopa stretches for 6.3 km. In the central part of Zhağalau, there is a promenade with a cycle path, shelters, benches and recreation areas. The eastern section features a concrete pump track as well as children’s and sports grounds, while the western section includes an amphitheatre, a stage and a café area.

Kök Shalğın Park stretches for 1.5 km from the “Eternal Flame” memorial complex to the shore of Lake Kopa. The Kök Shalğın project is designed to connect with the Zhağalau waterfront and Lake Kopa; its landscaping covers approximately 7.5 hectares.

Passengers using Kökschetau Bus Station may board upon presenting an identity document or passport. The bus station sells advance tickets for intra-regional, interregional and international services for periods ranging from one to 30 days before departure. Tickets can be purchased there by bank card or another payment method.
