Kazarman is a starting point for excursions to the Saimaluu-Tash rock art gallery. It is located on a plateau in the Fergana Mountains at an altitude of about 3,000 meters; the rock art, made with black rock, dates from the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age. Saimaly-Tash has around 10,000 stones bearing depictions, the oldest of which date from the third to the early second millennium BC. Saimaly-Tash has remained a sacred place from the third millennium BC through the Middle Ages to the present day.

The road to the Saimaluu-Tash rock art gallery is usable for only about one month a year, approximately from mid-July to mid-August; the first snow falls there in September. Kazarman can be reached from Jalal-Abad or the Naryn region by bus or taxi.

Nature

Saimaly Tash State Park, south of Kazarman, was established on the Kurart River in 2001. Kazarman is a starting point for excursions to the Besh-Kol Plateau and five mountain lakes at lower elevations.

Routes

Kazarman is part of the Kyrgyz Nomad Trail, a national network of hiking trails that connects travelers with Kyrgyzstan’s natural and cultural heritage. A transfer from Kazarman to Nasan Bulak marks the beginning of a horseback riding or hiking route; Nasan Bulak is a small waterfall with a long sequence of cascades. A travel route to Song-Kul leads through Kazarman, Nasan Bulak, Bala Tapan, Kadu Pass, and Ashuu Tor. Kazarman is a stopover both on the long road from Osh to Lake Song Kul and on the long road from Osh to the Tash Rabat caravanserai.

Route 20 is seasonal from June to mid-September; this period comprises 106 days. It is classified for hiking and horseback travel and leads from Jalal-Abad through Kazarman to Lake Ak-Kel.
