Sveti Stefan: Hotels and Accommodation

Coast
East Beach and West Beach lie on opposite sides of the access route to Sveti Stefan. The beaches of Sveti Stefan are sandy and have pinkish and reddish stones. Crvena Glavica, with seven smaller beaches, is located in the immediate vicinity. Miločer Beach, also known as King's Beach, is situated in front of Hotel Miločer and is surrounded by a park with exotic trees.

Culture
The island of Sveti Stefan is characterized by paved streets, courtyards, and carefully restored stone buildings. At the entrance to Sveti Stefan, the small Church of the Transfiguration preserves traces of fresco paintings. A larger church on Sveti Stefan was built in 1885 and consecrated to Saint Alexander Nevsky in 1939. Sveti Stefan is named after the Church of Saint Stephen the Protomartyr, which still stands on Sveti Stefan today.
History
Sveti Stefan was once the center of the independent Principality of Paštrovska. The Paštrovići tribal court, known as Bakanada, was based on Sveti Stefan for 400 years, until 1929. In 1442, Sveti Stefan was described as a military fortification. Sveti Stefan served the Paštrovići as a commercial and transportation center. During the Republic of Venice and trade with Venice, Sveti Stefan had strategic and commercial importance.
