Geographical Location

Lješevići is the westernmost village of Donji Grbalj. A road trip route through Grbalj leads from Nalježići and Sutvara onward to Lješevići and Bigova. History

Lješevići is recorded as a settlement of Miholjski Zbor for the period from the first quarter of the 13th century to the middle of the 15th century. The years 1422, 1494, and 1553 are also associated with the village. St George's Church may date from the 18th century; its iconostasis was made in 1752.

In the broader regional context lies Velika Gruda, an extensive double tumulus in the Grbalj Plain, measuring approximately 26 meters in diameter and 6.30 meters in height.

As part of restoration work, the surrounding wall, access gates, and paths of St George's Church were repaired; vegetation and debris were also removed from the churchyard. During this work, the access road from the local road to Bigova and the area outside the wall of St George's Church were also repaired.
