Luboń: The Warta, Nature and Industrial History

The “Śladami historii Lubonia” route leads through four locations that illustrate Luboń’s nature, recreational opportunities, industry and local landscape. Each location has a themed information board with details about the surroundings, a map of the Nadwarciański Szlak Rowerowy between Poznań, Luboń and the Wielkopolski Park Narodowy, and directions for further sightseeing.

Lasek Majoński is a green space in Luboń used for walking, outdoor activities and wildlife observation. The Warta offers good conditions for walking and kayaking. Flatwater kayaking in stable touring kayaks is also suitable for families. The permanent exhibitions cover the history of the Security Police prison and the Posen-Lenzingen education camp, as well as forced labor camps for Jewish people in the Wartheland from 1941 to 1943.

Places associated with factory history also offer points of interest for a visit. Park Siewcy is located in an area of factory housing built around 1908 for managerial and technical staff of the chemical factory in Luboń. The Siewca Monument in the park is one of the few works by Marcin Rożek to have survived to this day. A few listed buildings and houses from the former factory settlement remain on the grounds of the former Koehlmann factory.
