Among Wolimierz’s greatest attractions are its well-preserved old, traditional houses. Renovated and newly built houses also retain traditional architectural features. Those interested in architectural heritage can therefore look at both the older houses that have survived and the continuation of traditional features in renovations and new buildings. Different aspects of the architecture stand side by side, rather than reducing the village to a handful of historic buildings.

In 2013, Wolimierz received a special award for the best spatial and cultural organisation of a village. This award is another aspect of the village’s character, clearly tied to a specific date. The history of Stacja Wolimierz includes the listed building of the former railway station. Fundacja na Rzecz Wspierania Kultur Alternatywnych i Ekologicznych saved it from demolition in 1993. In Wolimierz, a disused railway station building was also converted into a gallery.

Teatr Kliniki Lalek, relocated from Wrocław to Wolimierz, forms the core of the cultural community that has developed there since the early 1990s. Along with the station’s history, this background reveals another side of the village: culture here is not just a theme for discovery routes, but is also connected to a community that has grown over several decades.

The Tajemnice Wolimierza discovery game is divided into four themed routes: Natura, Historia, Kultura and Społeczność. The routes can be explored individually or freely combined. This lets you choose according to your interests—whether nature, history, culture or community—without having to follow the same order for every theme.

The culture route includes prepared offerings such as films, galleries and studios. Completing it can take up to five hours. Every summer, artists, craftspeople, organic farmers and people from different walks of life meet at Stacja Wolimierz. The three-day programme includes workshops, talks, performances and concerts. The Jarmark Wiejski Izerski, a market for handicrafts and healthy food, is also held on the meadow at the station.
