Culture and History
In 1718, Kałuszyn was granted city rights by King Augustus II the Strong after the Opacki family had campaigned for them.
Historically, Kałuszyn is connected with the Napoleonic campaign and the November Uprising: the town was destroyed during the Napoleonic campaign, and fighting took place there three times during the November Uprising.
The Złoty Ułan equestrian monument was unveiled in Kałuszyn on September 13, 2014. It commemorates the 75th anniversary of the 1939 Battle of Kałuszyn.
