The year 1669 is recorded as the date associated with the church complex. The Gothic church was remodeled in the 18th century, while the altar and organ gallery date from the late 17th century.
Milki is one of the rural municipalities in Giżycko County, alongside the rural municipalities of Giżycko, Kruklanki, and Wydminy.
The settlement is described as a local administrative and service center with limited industry. The settlement was granted its founding rights in 1474 and was settled by Masurian colonists.
Historical memorials associated with the local church commemorated members of the Milki community who died in the First World War.
