The Bishop’s Castle and the churches give Reszel’s historic townscape distinct character. Adjacent to the north side of the castle is the former Jesuit college complex, which includes the Church of St John the Baptist. Built in 1799–1800 to replace a Gothic church, it is now a Greek Catholic church dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Lord.

St Peter and Paul Parish Church also offers several points of interest: its interior has three naves, and its furnishings date from the mid-19th century. The organ was built in 1829 by Jan Roth of Orneta. The historic granaries feature a different construction style: they were built around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries and have a timber-frame structure with plastered brick infill.

The city walls were built between 1360 and 1370; partly preserved sections can be found in the east and north of the city. The Old Rectory, the residence of the Warmian prebendaries, was probably built in 1444 and is the oldest residential building in the city.
