Insko

Ińsko is located in Iński Landscape Park. Its landscape is characterized by clear lakes, ravines, boulder fields and extensive forests. Lake Ińsko borders the town of Ińsko to the south and is named after the town. Cultural attractions include Ińskie Lato Filmowe and Ińska Izba Pamięci.

The landscape park offers a mix of bodies of water, wooded areas and traces of the Ice Age. Boulder fields and ravines are just as much a part of its character as its clear lakes. A boulder reserve lies 2 km from Ińsko. It stretches about 500 m eastward from the lakeshore. A path along the shore, opposite Sołtyski Island, crosses the hill covered with boulders. The approximate extent of the area and the location of the path give it a clear connection to the lakeshore, without assuming a specific path length.

Lake Ińsko has three islands. On one of them lies the 20-hectare Wyspa Sołtyski nature reserve, with an old beech and oak forest whose trees are more than 150 years old. The surroundings are defined not only by open water, but also by protected island nature and mature trees.

Thanks to its clear water and diverse wildlife and plant life, the lake is considered one of the most popular diving spots in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Local dive centers offer technical support. For travelers interested in diving, this is a distinct attraction alongside the town’s natural and cultural experiences.

Ińskie Lato Filmowe is one of Poland’s oldest regularly held film events. The first festival took place in the first half of August 1973. Today, its regular program includes screenings of new Polish films, paired with meetings with filmmakers. Alongside the cinema program, there are events usually connected with art and nature.

Ińska Izba Pamięci presents a permanent exhibition on the 101-year history of the Szadzka Commuter Railway (Saatziger Kleinbahn AG). The collection includes railway lamps, cardboard tickets and timetables, as well as maps of the railway network. Factory plates from railcars, along with railway workers’ uniforms and caps, are also part of the collection.
