Mădăraș Commune combines historic ecclesiastical buildings and regional culture with a thermal spa, protected areas, a bird colony, and sport-fishing waters.
Culture
The church in Ianoșda is dedicated to the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel and was built in 1925–1926 in the Baroque style, with Gothic and Byzantine elements. The Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Mădăraș dates from the 19th century, was repaired in 1892, and painted in 1973. The Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Homorog was built in 1836–1837 and is known for the murals by the painter Ioan Lopoșan. The church in Mărţihaz is dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God, was built between 1935 and 1939, and has the form of a ship with a bell tower in the Romanesque style, combined with elements of the Brâncovenesc style; 1934–1937 is also given as an alternative construction period.
The “Cununița” folk ensemble from Mădăraș was founded on January 7, 2008. Its repertoire includes Polcă, Pe picior, Țura fetelor, Fecioresc, and Lioara, a spring custom. In the village of Homorog, the icon museum contains more than 200 objects, including wooden and glass icons, old books, wooden crosses, ceramics, and traditional textiles. The Homorog museum collection was opened to visitors in 1973. The Homorog Heroes’ Monument was erected in 1996 and commemorates 42 men who did not return from the First and Second World Wars.

The Ștrandul Termal Mădăraș thermal spa is considered the commune’s main tourist attraction. The Ștrandul Termal Mădăraș thermal spa has three pools: a large pool with a temperature of 32 °C, a children’s pool with a temperature of 32 °C, and a pool with a water temperature of up to 38 °C.

The ROSCI0025–Cefa Natura 2000 site extends across the administrative territory of Mădăraș Commune. Cefa Natural Park lies on the northern boundary of the Mădăraș administrative unit. The Fântâna Toşa spring, Vizurişte Hill, and Tamás-halom Hill are located in the surroundings of Mădăraş Commune. Lencsés-halom Hill is located in the wider regional surroundings of Mădăraş Commune.
The bird colony in Rădvani Forest lies across the boundary in Cefa Commune; there is a visitor and information center there. The main pond of the sport-fishing area in Martihaz covers 24 hectares and has 27 equipped fishing spots. Martihaz has a sport-fishing pond where numerous fishing competitions are held.

Biserica Ortodoxă Marţihaz and Biserica Ateaş are located in the surroundings of Mădăraş Commune. The annual Bakers’ Festival in Mădăraș promotes Mădăraș’s homemade bread and includes competitions between bakers.
