The historic church in Cornăţelu was founded in 1596 by Vintilă Cornăţeanu and Voica and rebuilt in 1726 by Matei Ruset. The Biserica „Sf. Nicolae” a curţii Socol Cornăţeanu is located at 51 Domniţa Marula Street in Cornăţelu. In Alunişu, the church „Adormirea Maicii Domnului“, „Mucenița Anastasia“ and „Sf. Dumitru“ dates from 1818; it was rebuilt in 1947.

The archaeological site of Corni is classified as a civilian settlement and contains phases from the Bronze Age and the Migration Period of the 5th and 6th centuries. In Bolovani, Biserica Sf. Nicolae was founded in 1835.
