Hiking

The 12 Apostoli summit can be reached from Gura Haitii in the municipality of Şaru Dornei via a trail marked with a blue dot; the route is approximately 12 kilometres long and takes about three hours there and back. At 2,100 metres, Pietrosul is the highest peak in the Călimani Mountains and can be reached from Gura Haitii via a tourist trail through 12 Apostoli and Pietrele Roșii.

The Drăgoiasa–Mănăstirea Neagra Şarului–Şaru Dornei trail offers views of the Călimani peaks, Muntele Bucinişul with its shepherds’ huts lined up along the ridge, and the Bistriței Mountains in the background.
