Comuna Tulnici: Hotels and Accommodation

Nature and Landscape
Cascada Putnei comprises a 76-metre-long waterfall, a difference in elevation of 14 metres, and a lake approximately 12 metres deep. Cascada Putnei was declared a natural monument in 1973.
Cheile Tișiței is a 2,726-hectare nature reserve established in 1973. Groapa cu Pini is a nature reserve designated under Romanian Law No. 5/2000 and preserves palaeontological and landscape features in the upper reaches of the Pârâul Coza.
The peaks of Vârful Mociarului, Piatra Ciuta, Locoțeilor and Piscul Câinelui are located in the vicinity of Comuna Tulnici.
Hiking and Visiting
An admission ticket is required to visit the Tișița and Cascada Putnei integral protection zones. The Tișița integral protection zone may only be visited on marked hiking trails. The path through Cheile Tișiței is closed in winter because of the risk of avalanches.
Cascada Putnei can be reached via the DN 2D national road and a roadside sign pointing towards Târgu Secuiesc. Groapa cu Pini can be reached from Coza via a hiking trail marked with a red band through Stramtura Coza, followed by an unmarked path.
Culture and History
Mânăstirea Lepşa – Lepșa Monastery – is located in the vicinity of Comuna Tulnici, on the banks of the Putna River in Comuna Tulnici. The main church of Lepșa Monastery is dedicated to the Nativity of the Mother of God. The history of monasticism at Lepșa Monastery began around 1774.
The vicinity of Comuna Tulnici is also home to the Biserica Ortodoxă Coza church, the Biserica Ortodoxă Dragosloveni church and the Biserica Ortodoxă Greşu church. The Church of “Sfântul Ioan Botezătorul” in the village of Coza is classified as a local architectural monument and was built in 1873.
The Lepșa trout farm opened in 1955.
Local Cuisine
At the “La Moise” Punct Gastronomic Local, ripe tomatoes, aromatic onions, crisp cucumbers, fresh chicken eggs and all kinds of vegetables from the garden are used to prepare dishes. Mariș Ileana prepares fresh homemade dishes there every day as a set menu.
