Braničevo District between the Danube, monasteries and Silver Lake

Golubac Fortress is a medieval fortress from the 14th century on a steep, rocky cliff on the right bank of the Danube. Golubac Fortress can be reached by land or on the river. Ram Fortress has an irregular pentagonal layout and, in addition to the keep, four other towers. The Ram Fortress complex includes a nearby 15th-century caravanserai building. The National Museum of Požarevac displays frescoes from the painted tombs of Viminacium. Viminacium also preserves archaeological remains, including an amphitheater and Roman baths.

Tumane Monastery lies at the foot of the Golubac Mountains, surrounded by forest on the left bank of the Tumane River. The first surviving records of Tumane Monastery date from the 16th century. The hermitage of Saint Zosim is located about one kilometer from Tumane Monastery. Tumane Monastery hosts gatherings every year, attended by many believers. Overnight stays in the monastery guesthouse can be reserved through the official website of Tumane Monastery. Gornjak Monastery at the entrance to the Gornjačka Gorge was founded in 1378 as an endowment of Prince Lazar and includes a church dedicated to the Presentation of the Mother of God, as well as the hermitage of Grigorije Sinait, located in the rocks.

Kraku lu Jordan is an ancient archaeological site from the 3rd century AD in the area of the village of Brodica, at the confluence of the Brodica and Pek rivers. A hiking and mountain trail in Kučevo connects the caves near Ravnište and Ceremošnja via Veliki Štubej. Ceremošnja Cave has spacious chambers with stalactites, stalagmites and other cave formations. Vrelo Mlave near Žagubica is a tourist attraction below the northern slopes of Beljanica and originated as an apparently small lake in a flooded doline at an altitude of 314 meters. At Vrelo Mlave, visitors can walk along the paved banks and relax on the wooded slopes around the spring.

Silver Lake is 14 kilometers long and 300 meters wide, making it suitable for bathing, swimming and numerous water sports. A 2.7-kilometer path leads from the shore of Silver Lake to Veliko Gradište. The water park at Silver Lake has more than five swimming pools, as well as slides for children and adults. For traveling to Silver Lake by boat, there is a functioning landing stage on the Danube near the lake. Restaurants near Silver Lake serve freshly caught river fish with traditional side dishes, salads and a wide selection of wines.

The former asphalt road between Donji Milanovac, Golubac and Belgrade, which is now hardly used since the construction of the Đerdap motorway, is well suited for cycling. Equipment and a guide can be rented for the Gornjak via ferrata facility near Ždrelo. Kučevo is associated with the folklore event “Homoljski motivi”.
