Veselé lies on the northeastern edge of the Trnava Uplands, where they transition into a spur of the Lowland along the Váh. The village is situated on the right-bank terrace of the Dudváh, 12 km southwest of Piešťany. Geographical setting

The location of Veselé connects the Trnava Uplands with the transition to the Lowland along the Váh. The right-bank terrace of the Dudváh provides the specific topographical setting of the village. Piešťany lies 12 km southwest of Veselé.

Nature

Veselé is part of the Špačinsko-nižnianske polia protected landscape area. This area is an important breeding and feeding ground for the saker falcon and other bird species of the open agricultural landscape. The name of the protected area thus refers to a habitat defined by open areas shaped by agriculture.

Culture

The parish house in Veselé is a two-storey, elongated building with a passage covered by Prussian vaults. Its ground floor is a Baroque structure with a Neoclassical façade dating from the 18th century. After two fires, an upper floor and an Empire-style façade were added in the first half of the 19th century. Opposite the parish house stands the Church of Veselé, dedicated to St. Bartholomew.

At the entrance to the parish house garden stand Baroque stone statues of St. Florian and St. Vendelinus from the 18th century. A commemorative plaque on the parish house recalls a gathering of the founders of temperance societies, which took place there on 12 August 1847. The plaque was unveiled on 8 December 1968.

The church dedicated to St. Bartholomew was rebuilt as a Baroque church between 1736 and 1743. In 1925, it was expanded and renovated by adding two side aisles, making it a three-nave church. The vault of the main nave features four painted biblical scenes: the Flight into Egypt, the miraculous multiplication of the loaves, the Last Supper and the Expulsion of the Merchants from the Temple. A Baroque work dating from 1763 also stands in the square by the church. On the north side of the church, a sandstone monument commemorates the soldiers from the village who fell in the First World War between 1914 and 1918.

In 1900, the Škublič family had a larger brick chapel built in the Gothic style in the cemetery, on the site of their family crypt. The Škublič family chapel is dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross; Catholic Masses are occasionally held there.

At the upper edge of the former municipality of Ťapkové stands a wooden belfry with a wooden roof. It contains a small bell made in Bratislava in 1821.

The birthplace of Štefan Moyses houses an exhibition about his life and work. The building is an example of preserved folk architecture from this region. Štefan Moyses was the first chairman of Matica slovenská.
