Culture and History
The Baroque Church of Saint Bartholomew in Veselé was built between 1736 and 1743 on the site of an older religious building. It was restored in 1925; the addition of two side aisles expanded it into a three-nave church.
The rectory garden contains Baroque stone statues of Saint Florian and Saint Wendelin from the 18th century. The Škublič family chapel is dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross; Masses are held there occasionally.
The listed folk house at Veselé 93 is the single-storey birthplace of Bishop Štefan Moyses and was built in the second half of the 18th century. Štefan Moyses was born in Veselé in 1797 and was chairman of Matica slovenská on August 3, 1863.
At the Hradisko-Podzámske site in Veselé, settlement traces were concentrated within an Early Bronze Age fortification. An archaeological investigation at the Hradisko site confirmed the existence of a medieval castle complex dating from the 11th to the 15th century.
Basket weaving was a secondary occupation in Veselé.

Veselská guláš párty is an event for cooking goulash; the 16th edition has been announced for July 11, 2026.
