Radenci is known as a spa and holiday destination and is famous for its mineral water. The mineral springs in use form the basis of spa tourism at Terme Radenci. Nine mineral water springs are currently being used in Radenci, with an average temperature of 12 to 16 °C. Karl Henn discovered the mineral springs in Radenci in 1833. The Healing Spring (“Zdravilni Vrelec”) is located directly next to Terme Radenci.
Spa and Culture
The neo-Gothic Chapel of Saint Anne, built in 1895 in Radenci’s spa park, is also part of the spa town’s character. The spa park is also the venue for “Radensko poletje”. The programme offers summer evenings with music and open-air concerts.
Nature and History
The “From Stone to Iron” educational trail connects several themed stations. The longer version is a 4 km circular route. Along the trail, visitors can learn more about prehistory in connection with the later history of spa tourism in Radenci. There is also an iron-rich water spring there. The CO2 bathing spring is the final point of the themed “From Stone to Iron” educational trail and is located on the Mura in a Natura 2000 area.
Cycling
Radenci and the surrounding area can be explored on signposted cycling routes of varying difficulty. These routes are suitable both for family outings and more demanding tours. The “Radenski Krog” begins in Radenci and then leads via Turjanci, past a Roman-period burial mound, to Janžev Vrh and back to Radenci through Boračevo. The “Traminca” cycling route leads from Radenci over hills to Kapelski Vrh.
Water and Interpretation
“Svet doživetja vode” is a new sustainable tourism product that presents the importance of water to Radenci’s development through sound, light, movement and storytelling. It includes the interactive projections “Water Dance” and “Water Symphony”. The offering also includes an updated film about the history of Radenska water and the development of Radenci.
Family and Events
“Mačje mesto” is an integrated tourism product with offerings in sports, culture, cuisine, traditional customs and accommodation, aimed primarily at children and families. In the Municipality of Radenci’s cultural programme for 2026 to 2030, “Mačje mesto” is planned as one of the programmes held regularly every year. The 12th Family Tourism Festival “Mačje mesto” will take place in Radenci from 19 to 20 June 2026 and will be organised by the Municipality of Radenci.
