Preserje combines the Church of St. Vitus and the parish barn with the signposted Planinska obhodnica Pentlja and the Pot na Mah circular trail. The hill of St. Anne offers a different perspective: it is a natural viewpoint over the Ljubljansko barje, from which a mosaic-like landscape can be seen. There are also mountains and cultural attractions in the nearby, surrounding and wider regional area.

Culture

The Church of St. Vitus in Preserje is protected as a cultural monument of local importance because of its historical, art-historical, architectural-historical and ethnological significance. It is a centrally planned Baroque building from 1711 with an octagonal nave, an octagonal presbytery of equal height, domed roofs and a bell tower on the north side.

The dome of the presbytery and the walls of the nave were painted in 1870 and 1871, respectively, by Janez Ć ubic. Trpin painted the dome of the nave in 1910.

The parish barn in Preserje is built of rubble stone and features brick rosettes on the gables. Both floors have vaulted ceilings and small granary windows with wrought-iron grilles. In the raised basement or storage area, there is a wrought-iron gate bearing the year 1837.

Trails and landscape

The Planinska obhodnica Pentlja is divided into 18 sections and is consistently marked with the Knafelc blaze and Pentlja’s horizontal figure-eight symbol. The Pentlja passes through Preserje, where it meets the hiking trail from Preserje to the railway station, and then continues in the direction of Kamnik.

The Pot na Mah circular trail starts at Goričica pod Krimom 29, 1352 Preserje. It is 3.8 km long and is suitable for hiking or cycling. The trail has seven information stations. At the Goriơki mah point, there are bicycle racks and benches; there are also benches at the bird-watching station and the outdoor classroom.

The hill of St. Anne is a natural viewpoint over the Ljubljansko barje. From there, you can see a mosaic-like landscape of meadows, fields, hedges and bodies of water.
