Razdrto: Hotels, Nanos Hiking Trail and Regional Views

The hiking trail to Nanos begins in Razdrto at a large gravel parking area immediately before the motorway overpass. At a fork in the trail, the Nanos Hiking Trail from Razdrto splits into an easier, gentler path and a steep route. The steep Nanos route uses footholds and metal cables set into the rock face and offers views of the Vipava Valley, the Karst Plateau, Vremščica and Snežnik. The easier path reaches the Nanos Plateau above the Church of St. Jerome after about an hour and a half. The church is located on the southern slopes of Nanos above Rebernice and below Grmada and was built in 1360.

Cycling

The Erasmus’ Cycling Trail begins in Razdrto at the foot of Nanos. It follows a quiet paved road through Veliko Ubeljsko and Malo Ubeljsko. The Erasmus’ Cycling Trail passes through Strane. There is a yew tree there which, according to local tradition, is the thickest and oldest yew tree in Slovenia. The trail also reaches Predjama Castle, which was built directly into a high rock face.

Landscape

The area around Razdrto includes Ter, Čebulovica, Vremščica and Debeli Hrib; all four are mountains. In the wider regional surroundings of Razdrto are the viewpoints Vedetta di S. Lorenzo, Vedetta di Moccò and Vedetta Alice. Hošperk Castle, a ruin, is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Razdrto.

Cuisine
