Breg pri Borovnici lies on a plain at the edge of the Ljubljansko barje marshes; part of the settlement lies at the foot of Planina. At the same time, Breg pri Borovnici is situated on the main road between Borovnica and Podpeč.

Nature

Anžutovo retje is an artesian spring that provides a habitat for numerous species of marsh plants. Anžutovo retje is also a circular marsh window next to a field path north of the fire station in Breg pri Borovnici. Its exact location beside the field path and its designation as a marsh window are just as much part of this natural feature as its function as a habitat.

History

Breg’s economic past dates back to before the First World War. At that time, Breg had a small sawmill; later, a larger wood-processing facility operated there. A Plečnik monument also commemorates the history and memory of the settlement. It is dedicated to the residents who fell in the National Liberation War.

Another focus is on the former transport routes. The route of the former railway line runs above Breg and Pako. The Breg Viaduct is now known as the Pako Bridge and is one of the four smaller railway viaducts built in the immediate vicinity of Borovnica. At the archaeological site of Breg pri Borovnici–Borovniščica, numerous archaeological remains from earlier periods were discovered during dives in the Borovniščica stream.

Experiences

In Breg, EOHIPPUS d.o.o. offers individual training in show jumping and dressage. Riding lessons at EOHIPPUS include caring for the horses before and after riding. The youngest visitors can choose a pony package that includes brushing, feeding and ten minutes of guided riding. This brings together different ways of engaging with horses: individual training, riding lessons with horse care and a dedicated package for the youngest participants.

The Borovnica–Breg cycling connection was intended to run through Breg and Pako to the Paško Viaduct. It was intended to follow the route of the abandoned railway line and Ulica bratov Debevec, then reconnect with the cycle path along the Borovniščica. At the opening of the Borovnica–Breg cycling connection section, participants cycled to the Breg–Pako fire station.

Occupancy should also suit your trip; in addition, you can compare the included services and individual price components. Before booking, the stated booking and cancellation conditions are also relevant. Use the offer pages to compare these fields directly, and only then decide which option meets your own requirements. It is also worth checking the occupancy details: Is the number of intended guests clearly stated? The services should make it clear what is already included and which price components are listed separately. The booking and cancellation conditions stated there are equally important. Comparing these fields directly keeps the costs and terms visible separately and makes it easier to make an objective decision between the available options.
