Belarus is a country in Eastern Europe with great tourist potential. Unfortunately, very few Western people know that in Belarus there are a lot of interesting places for recreation and tourism. Belarus, as a country situated on the way from Europe to Russia, is a very attractive region for the tourists. Belarusian nature, national parks, the most famous of which is Belovezhskaya Pushcha, Braslavskiye crystal-clear lakes, medieval castles - all this can be found here, in Belarus. Belarusian travel companies are ready to offer you hunting and fishing tours, ecological and historical tourism.
You have an opportunity to live directly in the Belarussian forest, guest lodges and hotels located in the ecological areas of Belarus. Recreation in Belarus means traveling and living in a wide range of picturesque places such as Lake Naroch, Lake Braslav near the town of Vitebsk, Berezinsky reserve and Nalibokskaya Pushcha. Belarus, as a landlocked country, is forced to look for additional incentives to attract tourists to the country. Therefore, here has recently started to develop ecotourism and agritourism. Several major tour operators propose recreation in Belarussian farmsteads.
Tourists have the opportunity to rent a real Belarussian hut with stove, bath, on the bank of a quiet river. In the farmsteads there many options for recreation to choose from: the gathering of berries, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, excursions through historical places. There are farmsteads in which the everyday life of Belarusians is fully restored as it was a hundred years ago. And there are entire estate complexes, which offer to its visitors an extensive entertainment program including tasting of home-distilled vodka, learning folk crafts, and visiting museum of antique cars. The best-known estate complex in Belarus, which is most visited by the foreign guests, is Dudutki situated on the outskirts of Minsk, near the village of Ptich. Holidays in Bulgaria: visa-free regime for Schengen owners
The Bulgarian government decided to simplify for many tourists the procedure of entering the country. From now on all people with a valid Schengen visa can go on holiday to Bulgaria without national visa. In such way Bulgaria is preparing its structures for the upcoming country’s entry into the visa-free regime, which today functions between the EU countries.
The decision to introduce new visa rules was taken by the Bulgarian cabinet of ministers on Wednesday January 26, 2011. According to the Bulgarian cabinet, the new visa policy will spur the tourist interest and will make Bulgaria more attractive to foreign investors.
Schengen visa owners will be able to get permission to enter Bulgaria and stay on its territory for a period of up to 3 months during the six months from the date of first entry.
It should be noted that the new visa rules in Bulgaria will be useful not only for the EU citizens, but also tourists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, who have a Schengen visa.
New measures, inter alia, must stir up not only the tourism sector, but also resort property market in Bulgaria. Since the beginning of the financial crisis in 2008 leading Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria have marked decreasing of the square meter price. Opportunity to visit the country for Schengen owners will facilitate entry of potential buyers and will indirectly stimulate the demand for Bulgarian property.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, in 2011 its consulates issued in total 733 623 visas, which is by 18% more than in 2010.
