Kaliningrad
Kaliningrad is a Russian port on the Baltic Sea with a rich history. The city was previously known as Königsberg (translation from German - Mount Royal) and before the Second World War belonged to Germany. Königsberg was founded in the thirteenth century by the Teutonic Order of knights and served as a fortress on the Baltic Sea. The city remained under the German control until 1945. After the capturing by the Soviet troops, the city Königsberg together with the surroundings became a part of the Soviet Union and was renamed and became known as Kaliningrad.
Kaliningrad oblast is a unique tourist site. Recreation on the Baltic Sea - for many people it means to travel to Kaliningrad. Travel guides often call Kaliningrad «Amber capital». Any tour to Kaliningrad always includes a trip to the amber deposits in the village Yantarnyi (the old German name - Polmniken) and the Amber Museum in Kaliningrad.
Kaliningrad itself is also interesting. There is the Cathedral, where lie the body of the great European philosopher Immanuel Kant. At the Museum of The Great Oceans in Kaliningrad you can get acquainted with the history of the Russian fleet and to see rare vessels. The museum is situated directly on the seafront of the city.
Another token tourist site in the Kaliningrad oblast is a national nature reserve «Kurshskaya Spit». It is the unique natural monument from the sand that forms huge dunes, stretching along the Baltic coast. Local places dispose to meditativeness and mental rest.
In the city of Kaliningrad and Kaliningrad oblast tourist infrastructure is excellently developed. Here everything is done in order to recreation on the Baltic Sea become a commonplace even for the southerners. Many health resorts, guest houses, recreation centers, hotels on the Baltic Sea and in Kaliningrad will offer a full range of tourist services and a European level of comfort.

River of Memory will appear in Minsk
Memorial composition in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack on April 11, 2011 in Minsk subway will be installed at the Oktyabrskaya station exit. Now there is a temporary marble memorial plaque where are always burning candles and church lamps.

Holidays in Bulgaria: visa-free regime for Schengen owners
The Bulgarian government decided to simplify for many tourists the procedure of entering the country. From now on all people with a valid Schengen visa can go on holiday to Bulgaria without national visa. In such way Bulgaria is preparing its structures for the upcoming country’s entry into the visa-free regime, which today functions between the EU countries.
The decision to introduce new visa rules was taken by the Bulgarian cabinet of ministers on Wednesday January 26, 2011. According to the Bulgarian cabinet, the new visa policy will spur the tourist interest and will make Bulgaria more attractive to foreign investors.
Schengen visa owners will be able to get permission to enter Bulgaria and stay on its territory for a period of up to 3 months during the six months from the date of first entry.
It should be noted that the new visa rules in Bulgaria will be useful not only for the EU citizens, but also tourists from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, who have a Schengen visa.
New measures, inter alia, must stir up not only the tourism sector, but also resort property market in Bulgaria. Since the beginning of the financial crisis in 2008 leading Black Sea resorts in Bulgaria have marked decreasing of the square meter price. Opportunity to visit the country for Schengen owners will facilitate entry of potential buyers and will indirectly stimulate the demand for Bulgarian property.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, in 2011 its consulates issued in total 733 623 visas, which is by 18% more than in 2010.
