Latvia is the second largest (after Lithuania) state of the Baltic region. Now Latvia is rapidly gaining popularity among the tourists from all over the world being a comfortable, quiet and inexpensive European resort. During the seventeen years that have elapsed since Latvia gained independence from the USSR, the State and private companies managed to form the image of Latvia as an ideal place for family holidays.

The quiet charm of Riga’s seaside, the Latvian splendid dunes off the coast of the Baltic Sea, the capital Riga, resort Jurmala, Liepaja festival are the main tourist attractions of Latvia.

The tourist infrastructure of Latvia is at the European level. Hotels from cheap and comfortable private guest houses to five-star hotels, numerous cafes and restaurants along the routes and in cities will allow fans of traveling by car to feel comfortable.

Except motoring Latvia is also actively developing marine tourism (cruises on the Baltic sea, rest and treatment on the Baltic Sea), as well as tours to such cities as Riga and Liepaja. Ecotourism fans are invited to visit the national parks of Latvia, the most popular of which is in the valley of Gauja.
