Central Russia

(0) marks: 0

In the section Central Russia we will introduce cities, attractions, and tourist routes of one of the most important regions of the enormous country. Central Russia is sometimes called the middle land. But the official name of the region is the Central Federal District of Russian Federation. It combines 18 administrative units - oblasts.

Moscow and some cities of the Golden Ring are situated in the Central Federal District. However, we specially didn’t include neither Moscow nor the Golden ring in this section, as we think that such major tourist destinations worth to be put into separate title sections.

Nonetheless, for the tourist central Russia may be very interesting. Most cities of this land are old Russian settlements with long history, special architecture, and with its secrets and interesting facts. For example, Ryazan, with its complex of ancient monuments (including many churches and Ryazan Kremlin) and Smolensk, which is the city of military glory of Russia.

We are sure that a trip to Central Russia will help to widen your knowledge about one of the biggest countries in the world, and to get acquainted with the lifestyle of Russian village, to visit the famous places of worship, and also to enjoy with the local nature, the photos of which are so often published in various tourist guides about Russia.
