Bodies of water and natural attractions are also among the clearly named local features. The Shijak Lakes are two lakes in the village of Metallë, in the Maminas administrative unit of the municipality of Shijak. Lake Karreç is a significant natural attraction in the Maminas administrative unit and was traditionally used for spa tourism. Panorama is a natural attraction in Maminas, Shijak, in Durrës County. Thus, various landscape features, each with its own geographical classification, are located alongside one another.

Roads and bodies of water

The Maminas–Hamallaj–Shën Pjetër road runs through flat agricultural fields and the Rrushkull–Ishëm managed nature reserve. It is a tourist road to Lalëz Bay. The turnoff from the Maminas–Karreç road to Lake Karreç first leads to the village of Karreç; the lake can then be reached on foot. The Shijak Lakes can be reached via the Shijak–Metallë–Lakes road. The Shijak Lakes are also easily accessible and offer opportunities for the development of tourist activities. The road references distinguish between a connection to a coastal destination and access routes to the lakes. For Lake Karreç, the final section is explicitly identified as a walking route; for the Shijak Lakes, by contrast, the Shijak–Metallë–Lakes road is listed as the named access route.
