Martuni is a destination with officially listed cultural heritage. This includes the “Holy Mother of God Church,” built in 1886, with embedded khachkars from the 14th–16th centuries, as well as an associated cemetery dating from the 15th–17th centuries.

Martuni’s officially listed heritage also includes the Iron Age Aghlners (Shen) Fortress on the southern edge of the town and Dastadzor Fortress approximately 4 km southeast of Martuni.
