The Alexander Isachev Art Gallery is housed in a restored architectural monument dating from the late 19th to early 20th century in Rečyca and has two exhibition halls. One hall features a permanent exhibition of the artist’s paintings and graphics from the collection of the Rečyca Local History Museum, which is open continuously. The second hall hosts changing exhibitions from the collections of the local museum, Belarusian museums, and private collections.

The Rečyca Local History Museum holds significant collections on archaeology, numismatics, painting, peasant work and household objects, Belarusian national clothing, weaving, photographs, and documents. The modern exhibitions cover the history of the region from the Middle Stone Age to the present day.

Daily services are held at the Holy Dormition Cathedral; it also has a Sunday school for children and adults, an art club, as well as exhibitions and festivals.

History

The hillfort site of Rečyca is associated with the Early Iron Age and the era of Kievan Rus. In the 13th century, it was the city’s citadel; a century later, Prince Vytautas built a wooden castle there, which stood for more than two centuries.

The Holy Trinity Catholic Church is a Neo-Gothic architectural monument in the center of Rečyca. It is located on the historic Andreyevskaya Street and is still in use. Construction began in 1901, and the consecration took place on June 1, 1903.

The Holy Dormition Cathedral in the center of Rečyca is a late Classicist building. It is located on the historic Market Square and is still in use.

The Chapel of Saint Euphrosyne of Polotsk was opened in 1995 and is 24.24 meters high. It is located on the Rečyca waterfront.

In Rechytsa District, the Agrousadba “Beregovaya” in Beregovaya Sloboda was described as accommodation offering overnight stays, a pond, fishing, boat trips, billiards, and organized active recreation.
