Discover Hadžići: Culture, Mountains and Hotels

In the centre of present-day Hadžići lies Margetino Groblje with its stećci; it points to a medieval settlement. The history of the town therefore does not begin only with today’s offerings, but visibly reaches back to an earlier settlement phase.

Culture

The cultural and artistic society “Ivan Planina” from Hadžići plays an important role in preserving and promoting the cultural heritage. It has been dedicated to this task for more than 75 years. Its work also includes presenting the folk traditions of Hadžići. There is a preparatory children’s ensemble, a children’s ensemble and a performance ensemble for this purpose. Their repertoire includes dances of the Muslim community from Hadžići as well as dances of the Orthodox community from Sarajevo Polje.

The historical area of Gradac is also one of the historic sites. It is a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The monument area includes a prehistoric hillfort, Roman monuments, a medieval town, the foundation walls of a medieval church, a necropolis with stećci and a quarry. The individual components therefore range from prehistoric times through the Roman period to the Middle Ages, combining different forms of archaeological and historical evidence within one monument area.
