The historic route of the united group led by Haji Dimitar and Stefan Karadja also passes through Vranilovtsi. This route records the group’s passage through Vranilovtsi after the Battle of Kanlydere on July 9, 1868, and before its final battle at Buzludzha.

The historic route through Vranilovtsi has been marked with special signs. On July 7, 2023, 18 new signs for this historic route were installed in the village.

Culture and History

The “Nauka-1902” community cultural center in Vranilovtsi was founded in 1902. The annual Petkovden celebration in Vranilovtsi includes a service at St. Petka Church. Local culture also includes folklore groups: the Vranilchanki group has won many awards and medals at national and regional folklore competitions and festivals, while the Balkandzhii dance ensemble takes part in festivals and competitions.

The Vranilchanki folklore group from Vranilovtsi is listed as the organizer of the national “Folklore Paths” festival. The festival is associated with the “Nezabravka” Adventure Park in Popovtsi in June.

Crafts and Cuisine

The pottery workshop in Vranilovtsi displays many clay vessels. It is also a place to visit to learn about the craft of ceramics. The workshop demonstrates the clay-forming technique known as “iztochvane,” which is associated with a potter referred to as a “tochar.”
