Stomanetsite: Hotels and Accommodations

Stomanetsite is located along road corridor III-5006, designated as “Gabrovo–Stomanetsite–Zeleno darvo–Uzana.” The road from Gabrovo toward Uzana passes through Stomanetsite and Zeleno darvo. Those wishing to book a hotel in Stomanetsite can then continue their accommodation search.

Nature

The Stomanetsite area is described as being located within Bulgarka Nature Park and the Natura 2000 network. Bulgarka Nature Park protects beech ecosystems, flora, fauna, and cultural and historical heritage in the central Balkan Mountains. The park is home to more than 1,300 plant species, 32 of which are listed in Bulgaria’s Red Book.

Trails and Routes

A route near Uzana begins 25 km from Gabrovo at the Partizanska pesen hut. The hut is accessible via a paved road; it has a large car park suitable for buses.

The roads and parking areas of Central Balkan National Park are used for hiking, cycling, and equestrian tourism. Bulgarka Nature Park has 580 km of marked tourist routes, as well as 29 huts and shelters for visitors.

Uzana is the starting point for numerous ecological trails and hikes; the Kom–Emine trail passes through Uzana. A trail above Stomanetsite follows the road toward Zeleno darvo and climbs via Bayuva Mogila, Chukara, and Preslapat, using a forest path and a forestry road.

Culture and History

In the Gabrovo region, the Bozhentsi–Dryanovo Monastery route connects two historical and cultural centers. In the Gabrovo area, the Iztochnik–Torbalazhi–Sechen kamak route gently climbs through the forest to the Sechen kamak sanctuary.

The trail above Stomanetsite passes the Dragomirova Fountain spring and a concrete monument dedicated to the Bulgarian volunteer units; a nearby metal cross commemorates the Bulgarian volunteer units of 1877.
