Nature and Trails
The Banichkite Springs are located immediately next to Kirkowo in the Kukulya area. A 1 km route from the centre of Kirkowo leads to the springs. A visit to the Banichkite Springs can be combined with the old Roman bridge.
From the Kirkowo area, a route leads into the Gyumyurdzhinski Snezhnik protected area. The Rhodope lily grows there. The area contains primeval forests of maple, as well as beech and beech-fir forests that are more than 150 years old. The fauna recorded there also includes golden eagles. Damla Kaya is suitable for walking.
Culture and History
A 6 km route from Podkova and Stareyshino leads to Punar Kaya. Punar Kaya is a domed tomb near Stareyshino. Local beliefs about the healing properties of its location and spring water are associated with the site.
Gaba is a protected rock formation near Benkovski.
