Chala has a traditional annual festival held on the last Saturday in August. Archaeological excavations at Videnitsa are described as the basis for the assumption that an ancient sanctuary of Dionysus once existed there. On the southeastern edge of Chala, a single Thracian burial mound is designated as a cultural asset of national importance.
