Dolni Pasarel is located directly on Pasarel Lake, an artificial reservoir on the Iskar River in the Pancharevo Gorge between Plana and Lozenska Mountain. The Iskar Reservoir is located immediately above the village; its section not used for water supply is used for camping and fishing.
Nature
Fishing and swimming are prohibited at Pasarel Lake because the lake is a water-supply zone. At the same time, the lake is used for walks and picnics, and a forest path follows its northern shore.
Nearby Garvanets is a protected natural landmark on the eastern edge of Dolni Pasarel. It is accessible by car; paths lead to the upper meadows and to viewpoints overlooking the Iskar Gorge and Plana Mountain.
Hiking and Cycling
Hiking and cycling routes from Pasarel lead into the surrounding mountains and beech forests. These include a 4- to 5-hour route via Polovrak, a marked route to the nearby monastery taking about 40 minutes, and marked paths to Peyo Buka hut, which take about 60 to 90 minutes.
The route from Dolni Pasarel to Polovrak runs on a gentle incline through pine stands, meadows, and oak forest. From Polovrak, views extend towards Sofia, Stara Planina, Vitosha, Plana, Rila, and the Iskar Reservoir.
Culture
The Church of St George the Conqueror in Dolni Pasarel was built around the beginning of the 17th century. Dolni Pasarel also includes the Chapel of St George the Conqueror, 2 km northwest of the village. It is kept open for prayer and religious services.
The Pasarelci dance ensemble continues the village traditions and takes part in local village festivals.
Bus 3 stops at the bridge on Pasarel Lake; parking spaces for cars are available there. A motocross training track has been built near Dolni Pasarel.
