Kiten: Hotels and Accommodation

The eight hermit cells in Tapanite are listed as a protected historical site in the territory of Kiten, covering an area of 1 hectare, under register number 226. The monastic cells are arranged on three levels and connected by narrow, high openings. The largest room of the monastery is a natural cave. The uppermost cell has an altar facing east. Rock carvings can be found at the foot of the rocky cliffs near the entrance.

The monastic cells can be entered through a chimney-like passage from the plateau, as well as through separate entrances to individual cells. The rock monastery near Kiten is located on north-facing rocky cliffs overlooking Blaskovo. The remains of an ancient settlement lie on a vegetation-covered plateau; a fortress associated with it is located at its northwestern edge. A stone staircase is situated on the southern side of the monastery.

An officially described, easy hiking route is recorded in the Provadia area. It leads from an eastern or western entrance to Kaleto to Shashkanite; the journey is estimated to take around 40 minutes. This is followed by an easy 15-minute section to a Thracian sanctuary. Another easy section of one hour leads to the rock monastery of St. George.

In the direction of Kiten, a rocky ridge is described, located approximately 3–4 kilometres from the first group of monasteries.
