The Historical Museum of Provadia features an ethnographic exhibition showcasing traditional rural interiors from villages in the Provadia area. It includes a model of a “singing” wagon associated with local crafts from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The medieval exhibition of the Historical Museum of Provadia preserves more than 4,000 medieval objects and highlights the late antique and medieval fortress of Provat–Ovech. The museum also displays medieval jewelry, Christian symbols, household objects from the fortress, and Byzantine and Bulgarian medieval coins.

Ovech preserves the foundations of three medieval churches and three entrances, details of two towers, 13 cisterns, late antique and medieval building remains, roads, and traces of residential and commercial spaces. Ovech Fortress was designated an immovable cultural monument of national importance in 2008.

Provadia-Solnitsata used an early European salt-production technology in which spring brine was evaporated in ceramic vessels. The settlement mound of Provadia-Solnitsata preserves a settlement dating from 5600 to 4350 BC. The site is described as having three successive Chalcolithic stone fortification systems, for which no known counterpart exists in Europe of the 5th millennium BC. The prehistoric salt trade associated with Provadia-Solnitsata extended through the corridors of the eastern Balkans, along the Provadiyska River and the Black Sea coast.

Ovech has access routes from the west and east, including paved sections, stairs, and a tourist trail. The western entrance to the fortress can be reached from Provadia via an original spiral staircase with 111 steps.

The main starting points of the routes to Ovech Fortress are approximately 20 to 30 minutes on foot or five minutes by taxi from the train station and bus station in Provadia. Provadia-Solnitsata is accessible to tourists for most of the year, provided that the weather is suitable for the open-air archaeological site.
