Pushevo: Hotels and Accommodation

Pushevo is known for a forest of wild-growing cacti and lies on the banks of the Yantra. Those wishing to book a hotel in Pushevo can then continue their accommodation search.

Nature

Protected by Dryankov Hill, the paleontological site contains fossilized remains of prehistoric marine organisms. These include fossilized corals, shells, snails, brachiopods, sea urchins, and nautiluses.

The cactus site is located about half a kilometer from the center of Pushevo; signs point from the asphalt road to the turnoff. The cactus area is described as easily accessible: a narrow path leads to a hilltop in the Dola area, and the site covers about one decare. Visitors also come to the cactus site because of a nearby spring known as Biserna voda.

Getting There

Regular bus services connect Pushevo with Veliko Tarnovo. The Varna–Sofia main road runs 4 km from Pushevo. There is a guesthouse in Pushevo.

Culture

The Spoluka community center in Pushevo was founded in 1923. The current community center building was constructed in the 1940s and 1950s.

More than 60 authentic songs and customs from Pushevo were collected and published in the book “Folklorna skrovishnitsa.” The book preserves Pushevo’s local language usage without editorial changes.

Takiya is described as a custom from Pushevo associated with proclaiming a new house.
