History

Near Dolna Kremena, a Roman villa rustica was excavated in connection with the ancient center of Mezdra. A large part of its agricultural area was uncovered; the finds include walls made of stone and mortar, as well as pottery, tools, coins, and a bronze patera.

In 1872, a secret revolutionary committee was formed in Dolna Kremena. The village is also associated with the Botev rebel Nikola Valchev.

Culture

Dolna Kremena celebrates its village day on Bulgarian Independence Day. At the village day celebration, a traditional bicycle tour was dedicated to Car-Free Day. The village day program also includes a performance by the women's vocal group of НЧ „Просвета-1897“.
