The Sveta Gera cycling route runs through Radatovići and continues via Sekulići to Sveta Gera and Sošice. It is 59 kilometers long, climbs 1,030 meters in elevation, and combines asphalt and gravel. The route passes through landscapes featuring beech forests, mountain streams, mountain meadows, and traditional villages; via several traditional villages, it leads back to Sošice.
Nature
Radatovići is located in the western part of Žumberak-Samoborsko Gorje Nature Park, on the slopes of Žumberačka gora. Near Radatovići, Sveta Gera, at 1,178 meters, is the highest peak of Žumberačka gora and northwestern Croatia. From Radatovići, views extend toward Velika Kapela, Mala Kapela, Klek, and Sveta Gera, as well as part of Bela Krajina. Near Radatovići, between Radatovići and Sveta Gera, lies the abandoned village of Gaj; it was once Žumberak’s highest inhabited area, at 850 meters above sea level.
Culture
The Parish of the Resurrection of Christ in Radatovići was first mentioned in 1623. The parish church of the Resurrection of the Lord in Radatovići was built at its present location in 1870.
The building of the Radatovići primary school is listed as a preventively protected cultural asset under reference P-4272. The former Radatovići school contains an anti-war fresco from 1943 by Zlatko Prica and Nikola Reiser. The Chapel of All Saints in the Radatovići cemetery also serves as a priests’ tomb.
Near Radatovići, Badovinci lies on the road to Radatovići; the Greek Catholic Church of Saint Nicholas stands there. Near Radatovići, next to St. Nicholas Church, a monument to renowned Uskok families displays the families’ coats of arms. Jovan Hranilović wrote his “Žumberak Elegies” in Radatovići.
Events
The 28th Žumberačka utrka took place in 2024 and recorded increasing numbers of participants, especially among children. For the international athletics competition Radatovići–Sošice, 140 visitors were recorded for 2019.
