History

The Bezdanjača Cave near Vrhovine is a prehistoric burial site dating from the Middle and Late Bronze Age. The noble Frankapan family is associated with Vrhovine; a castle is recorded there in the 15th century.

Cycling

Bicycles can be rented at SRC Bijeli Vrh. The center provides around 150 kilometers of marked cycling routes. These routes cross the fields of Lika and the dense forest of Mala Kapela. The designated cycling route Vrhovine - Rudopolje - Grčki bunar - Hajdučka koliba is 39.1 kilometers long.

Activities

The Pazi, medo Zipline in Vrhovine is 1,700 meters long and the longest zipline in Europe. In favorable northerly winds, it can reach speeds of more than 120 km/h. Near the reception area of the main cableway, a children's zipline approximately 200 meters long had an operating permit valid until March 2026.
