Rastovača: Hotels and Accommodation
Rastovača is associated with the landscape of the Plitvice Lakes and the wooded Medveđak ridge. It is 8 kilometers long and offers panoramic views of part of the Plitvice Lakes as well as the area between Mala Kapela and Lička Plješivica. Nature and Landscape
Along the Medveđak Trail, information panels explain the forest ecosystem and other natural features. The old beech forests along the trail provide a habitat for rare and endangered plant and animal species.
The lowest peak of Medveđak offers views of Kozjak Lake, the area around the Great Waterfall, and the villages of Poljanak and Plitvica.
Milanovac Lake is enclosed by cliffs more than 20 meters high and has a lakeside path as well as stone viewpoints in the upper canyon. At its eastern end are the Milka Trnina Waterfalls. They commemorate the Croatian opera singer Milka Trnina, who donated part of her income to the Plitvice Lakes.
History and Culture
A hiking trail for visitors to Tupi Medveđak was built in 1894. Blankin put was built from a hotel to Oštri Medveđak in 1900 and named in honor of Princess Blanka.
Trails and Water
Entrance 1 is the northern entrance to Plitvice Lakes National Park; from there, visitors can choose between four marked lake routes. The circular programs at the lakes provide access to the canyon of the Lower Lakes, the Great Waterfall, the Sastavci Waterfalls, several named lakes, and Kozjak Lake. These programs also include rides on electric boats and panoramic vehicles. From Entrance 1, a tourist trail leads down to the Great Waterfall or continues through the Lower Lakes to Kozjak Lake. The Great Waterfall is 78 meters high; the water at its foot forms the source of the Korana River.
Other Natural Sites
The Šupljara Cave is nearby. It is the only cave in Plitvice Lakes National Park that is open to visitors.
