Sveta Nedelja: Hotels and Accommodations

Anyone wishing to book a hotel in Sveta Nedelja can then continue searching for accommodation. The lake in Rakitje is the largest and best-known lake in the area and covers 210 hectares.

Nature

The Sava-Strmec Ornithological Reserve is located directly on the main lake of Strmec. For cycling, there is an MTB route through the Sveta Nedelja hills, as well as an easier, family-friendly tour around the lakes, the Sava, and the Sava-Strmec Ornithological Reserve.

The Sveta Nedelja Adrenaline Centre is connected to hiking trails and cycling routes that lead through the Sveta Nedelja hills.

Culture and History

The Parish Church of the Most Holy Trinity stands in the centre of Sveta Nedelja; the parish was first mentioned in 1501 in the list of parishes of the Diocese of Zagreb. The church was built from 1768 to 1786 and is a significant example of a late Baroque church. Its main altar dates from 1811.

The Chapel of St. Rocco was first mentioned in 1668 and has a restored Baroque altar dating from 1751. Its organ dates from 1799, has seven stops and one manual, and has no pedal; it was created by the organ builder Anton Scholz from Celje.

The techniques and craftsmanship involved in making Sveta Nedelja kraluž have been included in the Croatian Register of Protected Intangible Cultural Heritage. An association organizes workshops on making kraluž, as well as other handicraft activities.

Experiences

The Sveta Nedelja Adrenaline Centre in Jagnjić Dol offers quad biking, an adventure park, paintball, archery, human foosball, and a zip line. The Rimac Campus can be visited as part of guided tours.

Cuisine

Sveta Nedelja's Fish Festival is a culinary event and a competition for preparing fish, held at Lake Rakitje. Fish is prepared in a 600-litre kettle, and local traditional dishes and cakes are also offered.
