Culture

The buildings in Martinski include the Baroque Lazzarini-Battiala country residence, built in the early 18th century and described as one of the most representative examples of this type of building in Labinština. The parish church of Saint Martin was built in 1907 on the site of an older church; it has a single-nave layout, two side chapels, an unplastered Neo-Romanesque façade and no bell tower. The Church of Our Lady of Good Health was built in 1630 on the outskirts of Sveti Martin next to the former Lazzarini castle; it is a vernacular Baroque church with a porch and a Baroque belfry with two bells.

The Lazzarini country estate complex in Sveti Martin is protected under designation number Z-2473. The cemetery contains the small rectangular Chapel of Saint Catherine with a gabled roof. The Lazzarini-Battiala Palace has six apartments, a wine cellar or tavern, and an Istrian fireplace.

Dubro Sculpture Park offers an open-air art and nature experience across more than 30 hectares, with stone sculptures and seasonal cultural events. It is located at the entrance to Labin, not in Martinski.

Food and Wine

Kaštel Pineta offers traditional local cuisine as an agritourism experience; the restaurant serves local specialities exclusively from its own production. Kaštel Pineta also has a large indoor swimming pool in natural surroundings.

The wine exhibition at Baronova fešta 2026 in Martinski featured more than 25 winegrowers, who presented wines and the wine tradition of eastern Istria.

Cycling and Landscape

Martinski (Sveti Martin) is the starting point and destination of cycling route 443, “Stazom Svetog Martin / Baronova Staza”. The area around the “Trail of Saint Martin / Baron’s Trail” is characterised by terra rossa soil and vineyards where wine is produced.
