Čibača: Hotels and Accommodation

Čibača is home to three historic churches: St Matej (Maćel), a burial church mentioned since 1313 that was rebuilt after a fire in 1991; St Luka, a burial church mentioned since 1592 that was restored in 1906; and St Nikola, dating from the 19th century. St Luka was blessed in 1909.

Culture and History

Mitareva gomila in Čibača is a protected archaeological cultural property with registration number Z-6544. The site lies on the border between Čibača and Čelopeci, has a diameter of approximately 38 metres and is 3 to 3.5 metres high. Mitareva gomila occupies a strategically important hill from which the Župa Field is controlled from the south.

The archaeological site with the remains of the Church of St Stephen and the cemetery in Čibača is a protected cultural property with registration number Z-4616. Small foundations and several grave remains from the St Stephen site are visible in a road cut. At the archaeological St Vlaho site, two graves from the former cemetery have been preserved.

Trails

Čibača has a public pedestrian staircase called Put dr.A. Starčevića-Sv.Luka-Čibača. In the wider Župa dubrovačka area, there is a 50-kilometre network of themed hiking trails with downloadable GPS tracks. The Sea to Summit Loop is a 19-kilometre circular route with 745 m of elevation gain and crosses the municipality from the coast towards Malaštica and the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Župa dubrovačka is described as being 7 km from Dubrovnik and approximately 10 km from Čilipi Airport.
