Želiski: Hotels and accommodation

Since 2023, #zamislisvojuželju has been held annually on 15 August on a hill in Želiski. The outdoor family event is intended for children, parents and visitors of all generations. The programme includes telescope observations of the starry sky with astronomy societies, creative workshops for children and film screenings under the stars. Nature and trails

The 631 Barban Trail runs through the hills near Želiski, with views westwards towards the hills and eastwards towards the Kvarner Sea.

A 33-kilometre circular cycling route starts and ends in Barban. It leads through forests, cultivated fields, hills and sections on gravel roads, and passes a hill near Želiski where the Church of Saint Paul the Apostle stands.

Walk and Taste Barban is a 13-kilometre hiking and cycling route that passes through Želiski. Its course leads through forests, vineyards, pastures and old villages with stone houses. It is promoted as a route where visitors can experience local sights and food from the Barban area.

Culture and history

The Church of Saint Paul the Apostle stands on Saint Paul’s Hill between Želiski and Bateli. It was built in the 15th century to meet the pastoral needs of Croatian families who had immigrated from Dalmatia. It was renovated at the end of the 19th century and again at the end of the 20th century.

Fešta na brdu Sv. Pava is a recurring local festival associated with the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul above Želiski. The programme included a football tournament with five players per team and an equestrian performance.
