Rebići: Hotels and Accommodation

A 33-kilometre cycling route runs through Rebići, passing through nearby villages and pine forests along asphalt, gravel and macadam sections. This route is designated as Trail 631, with 481 metres of elevation gain and a stated duration of three hours.

Nature and Trails

The section of Trail 631 beyond Rebići leads downhill on a macadam road through pine forests towards Puntera. From Barban, Trail 631 continues uphill through Rebići towards Hrboka.

In the nearby area, the Tepla stran–Puntera–Blaz trail runs 7.25 kilometres one way, or 14.5 kilometres as a round trip, and has 450 metres of elevation gain. Hiking, trekking, horse riding and mountaineering are listed for this trail. Also nearby, the Lost Crown of King Tomislav cycling route forms a 17.5-kilometre circular route with 470 metres of elevation gain.

At nearby Blaz Cove, drinking water flows into the sea. Visible remains of five former mills have also been preserved there near the sea.

Culture and History

In the Barban municipality, the Barban Visitor Center is housed in the old town loggia and presents the equestrian tradition of Trka na prstenac through multimedia interpretation. The exhibition presents the history of Trka na prstenac, its winners, equipment, traditional costume and educational films. Visitors can use virtual reality applications, 3D glasses and a lance to try to hit the ring.

Barbanski rančin is listed in the Croatian Register of Cultural Goods; examples are kept at the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula. Replicas of Barbanski rančin are produced as local souvenirs and are based on an 11th-century earring found at Gradina near Barban.

The Church of Our Lady of Health in Hreljići, which serves Rebići, is located nearby. It is single-naved and has three marble altars.

Local

Barbanski kolač is a traditional cake from the Barban area. The ring-shaped wedding cake is traditionally carried by the leaders of the wedding party in their hands.
