In Barban, Trka na prstenac is recognized as part of Croatia’s intangible cultural heritage. Historical records date the competition to 1696; it was revived in 1976 and has taken place annually in Barban ever since.

Putem Izvora is a circular route from Hrboki through Piska and Puntera and back to Hrboki. Signposts lead to the springs of Čažuni and the channels of the Raša River.

Putem Mlinova runs from Sutivanac through the valley of the Raša River and back. It includes a section where mills and springs can be seen.

Putem Špilja is an easy 12.5-kilometer hiking and cycling route that reaches the Feštinsko kraljevstvo cave. It offers views toward Učka and the sea and includes, at Feštinsko kraljevstvo, a cave, the remains of a former town, prehistoric fossils, and cave formations.

The Barban–Puntera–Most-Raša–St Nicholas Church mountain bike tour passes through Vadreš at kilometer 45.5. Via asparagus is a 3.4-mile hiking route near Vadreš with approximately 364 feet of elevation gain and a moderate difficulty level.

Local Traditions

Barbanski kolač is a traditional cake from the Barban area associated with wedding customs. Barbanski rančin is a traditional souvenir based on an 11th-century earring found near Barban and protected as Croatian cultural property.
