Kaštel: Hotels and accommodation
Kaštel is a rural ensemble above the Dragonja River. It includes the cultivated landscape of the acropolis settlement hill and the archaeological site; the ensemble bears the Croatian cultural heritage designation Z 2482. The hill of Kaštel overlooks the Dragonja Valley and contains evidence of a prehistoric fortified hilltop settlement.
History and culture
Kaštel was first documented in 1064. Traces of the castle are visible on the hill. In 1310, Kaštel was captured and burned down by the Venetians.
The parish church of St. Sabas was built in 1869 on the site of an older church. The single-nave building has two side chapels and contains wooden statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary and saints.

The Cingarela waterfall and Cingarela Cave are located between Kaštel and Momjan.
Cuisine
Šparogada is a traditional gastronomic festival in Kaštel that takes place every year and is based on wild asparagus. The program includes cycling and hiking excursions as well as tastings of various dishes made with wild asparagus.
Šparogando is a recreational hike through the landscapes and flavors around Kaštel. The announced Šparogando format includes five food and drink stops where local delicacies are to be served with local wines.
The Kaštel–Dragonja border crossing is an access point for reaching the area by car.
